Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy can be helpful when one cannot deal with the emotional suffering and problemsalone or with the help of significant others anymore. Psychotherapy can be also very helpful for people, who want to get to know themselves better, who would like to develop themselves, who would like to improve their feelings of self-worth and passion for life.  

It might be meaningful to consider psychotherapy if …

  • You feel an overwhelming, prolonged sense of helplessness and sadness.
  • Your problems don't seem to get better despite your efforts and help from family and friends.
  • You find it difficult to concentrate on work assignments or to carry out other everyday activities.
  • You worry excessively, expect the worst or are constantly on the edge.
  • Your actions, such as drinking too much alcohol, using drugs or being aggressive, are harming you or others.
  • You feel lost and unsure about your sense of purpose, meaning of life.
  • You feel the compelling need to get to know yourself better in order to be able to construct a satisfied life.

  • I often feel sick, even though my doctor says there is nothing wrong with me and the medical findings don’t indicate any illness.
  • Since some time I can only sustain myself with the help of stimulants, tranquilizers or sleeping pills.
  • Without apparent reasons I get a heart-throb and intense fear, that I might be dying.
  • I suffer from anxieties that burden and restrict my life (from contact with people around me, from authorities, from big open spaces, from tight places, from exams, etc.).

  • I feel innerly compelled to always think or do the same (compulsive washing, locking, speculate, etc.) even though this restricts my life very much.
  • I should utilise my abilities better, but I don’t know how.
  • I feel confused about my sexuality.
  • I am afraid of making decisions and this disturbs me.
  • I would like to tap my full potential but I am clueless about where to begin.
  • I want to have a healthy and satisfying life, but I don’t know how.
An important requirement for psychotherapy is your wish for change, your readiness to face and deal with your feelings and experiences,your openness to take support in the process. There isn’t an age limit for psychotherapy: it can be helpful at any life stage.  

I offer psychotherapy in English, German and Bulgarian, in individual, couple and group setting.

I offer a limited number of places (with reduced fee) for clients with low income or with very limited financial resources.
A partial refund through the health insurance is possible (GKK – € 28,-/session; BVA – € 40,-/session; VAEB -  € 28,-/session; SVB - € 50,-/session - as of 2016).
